ARRIVAL BY AIRPLANE
The Vienna International Airport is located about 18 km from the city centre of Vienna. You can reach the city by taxi, train or bus (see below):
By Taxi
The most comfortable and – depending on the time of day – probably quickest way is by taxi. With prices starting at 25 Euro, this is the most expensive means of transport, however, and in addition has to be reserved to get the special airport tarif. Prices usually include 1-2 persons and 2 pieces of luggage per person (plus hand luggage). You'll find taxis waiting outside the arrival and depature halls. Without major traffic jams, it takes about 30 min to get into the city centre. The typical route is via A4 (Ostautobahn) and Landesstraße B9 (Pressburger Straße).
By Train
S-Bahn S7 to Wien-Mitte
If passengers already know exactly where they wish to go and/or where their hotel is, they can use the S-Bahn S7 express train to reach their desired destination. As far as price is concerned, the S7 is the cheapest mode of transport at just 4,40 Euro. The S-Bahn is the right choice especially for passengers who can alight near their hotel or wish to change directly for the Vienna U-Bahn underground railway system.

City Airport Train (CAT)
There is also a range of further public transport options, such as the City Airport Train, which at a journey time of only 16 minutes is the quickest route to the centre of Vienna. Prices for the City Airport Train are only around 11 Euro if the ticket is bought online.

By Bus
Another option is the Vienna Airportlines bus. There are 3 different lines with several stops in the city. Depending on your destination in Vienna, choose the most suitable station for you. You can buy tickets online in the ÖBB Ticket Shop or directly at the airport from the ticket machines (at bus gates 7 and 8).
